ANIMEALS

Founded in 2014, AniMeals on Wheels services clients of Smoky Mountain Meals on Wheels with monthly deliveries of pet food.  AniMeals was formed out of necessity as many of our seniors struggle to care for their beloved companion animals. Whether it is due to financial reasons, the inability to access pet food and/or veterinarian services, AniMeals is there to help. In addition to providing dog and cat food, we are working with a local veterinarian to ensure that all animals are up to date on their rabies vaccine.  AniMeals is a volunteer-based program and relies on community support, grants and donations in order to operate.

SMOKY MOUNTAIN MEALS ON WHEELS

Meals on Wheels: Provides a nutritious midday meal Monday through Friday to Blount County residents 60 years or older who are confined to their homes and unable to prepare meals for themselves for various reasons. Priority is given to those with the greatest need.

Welcome Table-Maryville First United Methodist Church-Community Meal
Evening meal is served to the community free of charge every Thursday from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Free rides for anyone who needs a ride are provided from Broadway Towers, Maryville Towers or Parkside at 4:30 and 4:45.

Home repair is a large part of Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. The home repair program makes safety and health based repairs and modifications to existing homes. We utilize affordable loans, grants and donations to finance these repairs.

GOOD NEIGHBORS of BLOUNT COUNTY
GN provides limited financial assistance with utility bills or rent to avoid disconnection of utilities or eviction for Blount County residents.  As neighbors are seen in the office numerous resources are shared (food, meals, support, etc.) and referrals are made to other social service agencies as appropriate. GN also assists with utility or rental deposits.

Many of the providers listed below offer nonemergency transportation for medical appointments, to and from nursing homes and hospitals, for holiday or special-occasion visits, and other trips.  Some hospitals, eye doctors, medical, rehabilitation, or other service providers offer free transportation for their patients or clients to or from their facilities.
